It’s turkey season! For the next two months (and even longer after that depending on how much needs to be frozen) you’re going to be inundated with turkey leftovers. Unfortunately, having turkey, gravy, stuffing, etc. can get old really quick. But that’s where we’ve got the perfect spin on an old classic! Remember all of those apples you picked at the local orchard and stored for your fresh apple pies? Save a few for this delicious sandwich! Here’s what you’re going to need:

Ingredients:

  • 1 ciabatta roll that’s been horizontally cut in half
    • You can use other delicious breads too like our delicious rye, pumpernickel, kaiser roll, and more!
  • 2 tsp of hot pepper jelly
  • 2 ½ oz of roasted turkey
    • This could be fresh on Thanksgiving or leftovers
  • 3 slices of Gala apples
    • Or any other fresh apples you have
  • 1 oz of brie cheese. Slice it into ½ thick pieces.
  • ½ oz of baby arugula
  • ½ tsp of Dijon mustard

Directions:

  • Preheat your oven to 400℉
  • On a small baking sheet, place the ciabatta bread.
  • On the bottom half of the bread, you’re going to spread the hot pepper jelly evenly.
  • Next, add the turkey, apples, and brie on that same bottom half.
  • Pop it in the oven and bake for about 3 minutes. You want the top half of the bread to be a nice light golden brown and the cheese to be melted.
  • Pull it out of the oven
  • Finish it off with the arugula on the brie and the mustard on the other slice of bread.
  • Put the sandwich together and enjoy this new, delicious take on turkey leftovers!
