2022 was another year full of sweet treats, special memories, and new ingredients. As we look forward to 2023, we recap the past year while gearing up for the new year ahead.

2022 Recap

2022 was certainly a treat after a difficult 2020 and 2021! To celebrate, this year we shared sweet spring treats like lemon and butter breads, flower cupcakes, and fruit tarts among other fresh baked goods, researched some delicious doughnut history, welcomed summer with no-melt fruit breads and other moist desserts, brought in fall with warm, cozy pies and pastries, and informed our dear clients of the benefits custom cakes can bring to any occasion from weddings to birthdays, graduations, and more. We were happy to give the gift of sweet memories and fresh-baked pastries to our clients all year!

2023 Trends

As we look into 2023, we also look at some of the food trends of the world. For example, ‘Glocal’ food trade that brings together the globalized and local food systems, promoting regional architecture, shorter supply chainsaw and reinforcing local and domestic markets. Egypt Star Bakery is proud to source components and supply from and to local businesses. We’re also happy that these efforts not only help keep our food fresh, but also aid in sustainable food practices to help the environment. 

One of the biggest trends of 2023 includes clean eating. Clean eating means that you’re consuming foods that are as close to their natural state as possible, again a good consequence of consuming and buying local. This type of eating doesn’t mean you’re sticking to solely a plant-based diet, but it does mean that you’re consciously following a diet filled with whole-filling foods like fruits, vegetables, healthy grains, and sustainably sourced proteins. We always aim to give our clients healthy sweets (as well as the occasional cheat day treat!)
